Our Faculty of Law is the only such faculty found in northern Tohoku. We are excited to announce that a new Department of Tourism will be introduced in April of 2008 (an application for this has been turned into the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
Our Department of Tourism is Japan's first such department placed under a Law Faculty and will prepare students having a legal background as leaders in future relationships with Japan's neighboring countries. Our students will be given training in how to provide service to foreign tourists visiting Japan. To facilitate this need, NAU has established a relationship with Akita Prefecture as well as with other governments on different levels that promote the tourism industry. Practical education and detailed career support to students are also now possible with a cooperation agreement with ANA Strategic Research Institute. We also have the assistance of Nippon Travel Agency as well as with many hotels in and around Akita City.
The goal of the Department of Law is to cultivate the legal mind of the students. In an effort to motivate and assist students in attaining their desired career, we offer 3 courses. They are the Legal Course for judicial scrivener or legal assistant candidates, the Police Officer / Civil Servant Course, and the Business Management Course.
