Department of Applied Economics

Special Feature of the Department of Applied Economics

Our department aims to give students a wide range of knowledge, giving sufficient insight into economic phenomena so that they may plan their own careers and become capable, active citizens contributing to private and public organizations.

To achieve this aim, our department offers a variety of lecture choices. There are three types of lectures: basic lectures, advanced lectures, and practical lectures. Basic lectures give students an elementary introduction into economics. Advanced lectures provide students with applied insights into economic phenomena. Practical lectures train students for good adaptability into society.

There are four courses the student may choose from depending on career needs:

  1. Financial Course: for students who wish to work in banks or other financial institutions.
  2. Public Course: for students who wish to become an officer in local government administration.
  3. International Business Course: for students wishing to work in an international trading company or some other service involving foreign business.
  4. Entrepreneurship Course: for students wishing to someday establish their own company.

Students are recommended to either choose one of these courses or combine choices in order to develop the ability to actualize a career target.
