A Message from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees

The North Asia University Educational Foundation includes not only North Asia University itself, but also the Akita University of Nursing and Welfare, Akita Nutrition Junior College, Meioh High School, the North Asia University Nobinobi Kindergarten and Nursery School, and Sakura Kindergarten.

Since its founding in 1953, the Foundation has had a long history spanning 56 years. Over the years we have developed into a diverse organisation, currently providing learning facilities for about 2,500 students; just recently the total number of graduates of all our schools passed the 70,000 mark. Students who graduated from our institutions are active in the public, private, and academic sectors.

In recent years, society’s expectations for universities and other educational institutions have been increasing. The field of higher education in particular demands solid academic objectives and innovative teaching methods to train students to become active members of society. This Foundation has therefore established three principles to act as a foundation for all our institutions: high quality of education, motivational learning, and economic support for students and pupils. Accordingly, we have introduced General Education Seminars at North Asia University, as well as revising the Area Choices Course at Meioh High School (which has been reborn as the new Arts and Sciences Course and General Research Course) in order to excite the students’ motivation and teach them the joy of learning.

We believe it is our responsibility to train people with the confidence and ability to live and work in modern society. In order to achieve this, we have improved the Career Support subjects at North Asia University, and introduced the Civil Welfare Course and Civil Welfare Office at the Akita University of Nursing and Welfare. We will continue to work to provide our students with strong education and careful guidance to motivate them and prevent them from losing sight of their objectives during their college life.

At this Foundation, we will continue to strive for academic excellence; to provide solid support for our students; and to train people who can thrive in our rapidly changing society.
